"Artificial Intelligence Makes Its Way into Everyday Life: Innovation Opportunities and Future Challenges" Scientific symposium in the Department of Computer Science

An electronic scientific symposium entitled "Artificial Intelligence in Daily Life: Innovation Opportunities and Future Challenges" was held in the Department of Computer Science at Shatt Al-Arab University College on Thursday evening, 4/20/2023. The lecture was presented by the lecturer, Assistant Lecturer Ali Abd Al-Razzaq Abd Ali, and the symposium was attended by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Basem Sahar Yassin, responsible for the Development and E-Learning Unit and responsible for the Continuing Education Unit, in addition to the professors and students of the department.

The symposium aims to highlight the uses and benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various aspects of our daily lives, such as personal life, employment, transportation, education, health and others. It also aims to address potential challenges and risks associated with AI, such as privacy, security, control, and bias. Ways to develop AI technologies in an ethical and transparent manner, while ensuring responsible and fair use, and taking into account issues of privacy, control and bias, were also addressed.

At the conclusion of the scientific symposium, a set of recommendations were put forward that can be followed to understand the benefits and risks of using artificial intelligence, maintain personal privacy and data security, and identify uses of artificial intelligence that benefit the individual and society as a whole. The lecture witnessed a number of valuable interventions from the head of the Department of Computer Science, the professors of the department, and the attendees. They also participated in the questionnaire that was presented during the symposium to provide their opinions about the uses of modern technologies in their daily lives.
